Migration Manager for SharePoint

Before installing Quest Migration Manager for SharePoint, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

SharePoint 2003 Server

Migration Manager supports migration from one of the following SharePoint version:

• Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 SP2 or later
• SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP2 or later

Note: The prescan.exe utility must be run on the source SharePoint 2003 server before proceeding with content migration using Migration Manager. The prescan tool can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8a00b1f-6f45-42cd-8e56-e62c20feb2f1&DisplayLang=enn.

SharePoint 2007 Server

Migration Manager supports the following SharePoint versions:

• Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
• Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

SharePoint 2010 Server

Migration Manager supports the following SharePoint versions:

• Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
• SharePoint Foundation 2010

Migration Manager Host Server

The SharePoint server must meet the following system requirements to run Migration Manager:

Platform: Intel x86 or x64 (recommended).

Operating system:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2 or later
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2008 R2

The following Microsoft services should be installed and running:

• Message Queuing Service
• Task Scheduler

Access to an instance of Microsoft SQL Server to host a repository database for Migration Manager:

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP1 or later SPs
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Other:

• Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework SP1
