Quest Software Expands Products to Aid Migration

Will Host Webcast Featuring Archiving, Migration and Management Expertise

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., July 16, 2007Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT), today announced the availability of a new version of Quest Migration Manager for Exchange, Quest Archive Manager, and the release of Quest MessageStats Report Pack for Archive Manager. They provide support for users migrating to Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 from earlier platforms, and are part of Quest’s complete package of messaging migration tools for customers to use in planning and executing successful migrations from all major e-mail platforms to Exchange Server.

“Quest’s expertise in migration and management combined with Exchange Server 2007 ensures a stable and secure e-mail platform,” said Ray Mohrman, group product manager, Microsoft Corp. “Quest’s tools help transfer, consolidate, analyze and control messaging information, as well as protect the health and availability of the messaging infrastructure.”

Quest products assist in the automation of the processes required for a complete migration. They provide a clear picture of the entire process and allow quick decision-making and a better use of resources. In addition, they ensure that the migration does not impact day-to-day operations while protecting the integrity of all messaging information.

Version 8.0 of Quest Migration Manager for Exchange has been enhanced to help users manage their e-mail migration. Features such as coexistence and ZeroIMPACT™ on the end user ensure no interruptions during the entire migration. This tool synchronizes mailboxes, distribution groups and public folders, lowering network bandwidth and shortening the migration project.

Archiving messages prior to migration can speed the process because the amount of data to be migrated is reduced. With Quest’s Archive Manager, messages and attachments are stored separately and protected from accidental modification.

The Archive Manager Report Pack expands upon the capabilities of MessageStats, Quest’s reporting and analysis tool, to include statistics relevant to e-mail archiving and the ability to analyze information from the Archive Manager database. Reports about message retention policies, single instance storage and mailbox processing rate help simplify the archiving and migration processes.

“E-mail contains many of an organization’s most valuable assets,” said David Sengupta, director of product management for Quest Software. “Effective messaging information management is becoming increasingly critical in order to meet internal, legal and regulatory compliance requirements and to facilitate business agility. Quest’s portfolio of archiving, migration and management solutions enables customers to apply the best technology solutions to most efficiently manage their messaging systems and messaging data before, during and after a migration."

To learn more about Quest’s archiving, migration and management solutions for Exchange Server 2007, Quest will host a three-part webcast July 18, July 25 and August 1, all at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT. The series will focus on migrating organizations to Exchange Server 2007, ensuring message availability and managing information stored in the messaging environment.
