Toad for Oracle offers a wide range of features for building and maintaining database programs, including PL/SQL and SQL scripts. It includes a PL/SQL and SQL debugging suite and built-in knowledge bases: Knowledge Xpert for PL/SQL and Knowledge Xpert for Oracle Administration. The Toad for Oracle install is also available with Toad for Data Analysts for multi-platform querying and reporting and Toad Data Modeler for powerful data modeling and design. You can:

• Visually create queries and execute them through Toad for Data Analysts
• Construct and manage database objects
• Share project assets such as templates, scripts, and code snippets, with other team members using Project Manager
• Record workflow steps and play them back later with AppDesigner

Toad for Oracle also has its own team collaboration utility called Team Coding. Team Coding works with Toad's editor to control code access.

Toad for Oracle Professional includes all of the features in Toad for Oracle, plus CodeXpert, which automates code quality reviews for an objective and consistent review process. By incorporating rules from experts such as Steven Feuerstein, you have a virtual expert at your fingertips to advise you on your code. And, Code Reviews generate a quality and performance scorecard for your code. 

Toad for Oracle Professional also includes a data generator, which allows you to easily create multiple rows of data, for one or more Oracle tables for development and test environments.
Finally, the Export File Browser is unique functionality that simplifies the extraction of useful information, including objects and data from an Oracle export file, instead of having to import the entire file.

Toad for Oracle Xpert includes all of the features in Toad for Oracle Professional plus Quest SQL Optimizerfor Oracle to ensures the best-performing SQL is deployed to production.  It scans and analyzes SQL, then identifies potential performance issues directly from running SQL statements, PL/SQL or other source code. Quest SQL Optimizer then explores every possible way of improving SQL performance and either proves that you already have the best-performing SQL or provides you with the best-performing SQL alternative.

Toad for Oracle Xpert helps you manage database changes such as index creation, configuration changes, upgrades, migrations and others. You can analyze and compare execution plans for multiple SQL statements in different database environments to proactively identify SQL performance variations and potential performance degradation.
